Don’t Take Pictures strives to showcase the work of emerging photographers. In addition to publishing photography in print, and online in our monthly columns, we also publish quarterly online exhibitions.
The first day of school picture is a time-honored tradition. Grinning (or pouting) children wait for the bus or pose with their sibling sporting new backpacks and lunch boxes. The phrase ‘school time’ conjures memories of childhood, but parents and teachers have their own visual associations beyond the posed portrait. From supplies and blackboards to sports and social events; whether constructed or documented, for this online exhibition, Don’t Take Pictures seeks photographs from or about school days.
The exhibition will be published online from November 20 — February 18.
