Lars Schneider is a photographer from Hamburg, Germany. Primarily a commercial photographer, in February 2016, a camera crew followed him on a trip to the Faroe Islands where he made stunning landscape photographs. His personal work is wildly different from his commercial photography—Schneider explores lesser-traveled parts of the globe to document the wilds of nature and the harsh environment he is drawn to. He used to travel regularly with his wife, but now with children to consider, he makes his pictures alone. In the film Schneider is shown camping in unfavorable weather conditions and discusses the hardship in being away from his family for half the year.
