Seeing Red Exhibition

Lady in Red, Her Shadow and a Fire Hydrant, Michael T. Sullivan

Don’t Take Pictures is pleased to announce the results of our online exhibition Seeing Red. Forty-two photographs featuring red as the prominent color will be on view through February 19. Visit the exhibitions page to view the entire exhibition.

The Land Remembers, The Land Heals, J.M. Golding

Found in the velvet lining of an antique jewelry box, in a drop of blood, or the pattern of a startling wallpaper, the color red is linked to many meanings and emotions. Prior to the late 1890s, color photography was considered a pipe dream—something that only madmen would claim to have accomplished. Today’s photographers take for granted the technological achievements that made recording the vibrant hues of their environment possible. Whether red inspires images of first loves or leaves in the fall, for Seeing Red, Don’t Take Pictures presents photographs that feature red as the prominent color.

After Midnight, Nicholas Fedak II

Don’t Take Pictures holds free, quarterly calls for work for online exhibitions.
