Crowd Funding Roundup: FotoMarket - An Online Photobook Store
Crowd funding is becoming increasingly popular among creatives. With more sites springing up and more artists asking for funds, Don’t Take Pictures spotlights projects that benefit the arts community.
The month’s crowd funding roundup presents an online photobook store.
FotoMarket: An Online Photobook Store
With more photobooks being published than ever before, where can one go to find the best titles? Though there are some amazing brick and mortar bookstores that pride themselves on their photobook selection, geography plays a significant role in their customer base. In an effort to make photobooks accessible to a global audience, the online photography publication Fotografia is opening an online bookstore.
The Indiegogo campaign has a goal of €12,000 which will be used to build the initial stock. The store is expected to launch in the fall of 2016 and is offering great rewards to backers. The first 50 people to contribute €50 will have that money in credit to spend on photobooks from the store within one year of its launch. The will also receive a lifetime discount of 10% on all photobooks, and a set of specially designed postcards.
