Masks
Literally or figuratively, everyone has worn a mask at one time or another. Masks offer anonymity, or alter the wearer’s persona, transforming them into someone else. Rich with historical, religious, and cultural significance, masks can be complex works of art or as simple as a paper bag. For this online exhibition, Don’t Take Pictures presents photographs that incorporate the varied uses of masks theatrical, practical, or humorous.
This exhibition was featured November 23, 2016 — February 21, 2017. See our prior exhibitions.
